[pct-l] Fire restrictions - San Jacinto

The following was attached to my wilderness permit last weekend for a short overnight to the Tahquitz area. Note the restriction on stoves which seems to prohibit alcohol and esbit stoves. The warning about dead trees is a result of the ongoing drought. The San Jacinto Wilderness is on maps B8 through B10.

CAMPFIRES ARE NOT ALLOWED in the San Jacinto Wilderness due to the high fire danger.

There are no longer fire ring sites (yellow post sites) in the wilderness, effective as of June 21, 2004.

Camp stoves may be used, they must be of the type you can turn on/off.

Watch for DEAD TREE HAZARDS such as falling limbs and falling trees. CAmp and picnic away from dead trees. Limbs and trees may fall anytime, during all types of weather conditions.
