Hey, Hey, Hey
I don't think we can compare the two. I used both but for different reasons.
I was looking for a good cooked meal and a nice place to hang out for
an-0-day. at VVR. The platform tent was free for one night. So I pigged out on good
food and apple pie with Great people. The hospitality Butch showed was better
then some high class restaurants. VVR is as close as to a Shrangrala that I ever
visited. I loved the camp fire and story telling in the evenings.
Greg you and your family will love this place.
At the Muir Ranch about half way on the JMT for a slow backpacker like me I
only expected to use the MR for a food drop. I don't think $45.00 is not much
to pay to get 10 days of food delivered to you by mules. Would I preferred to
carry 14 days of food from VVR Hell no?
Lets recommend both without comparing. I feel we certainly need both. I was
just at Badentown an they are going to stop mail drops for PCer's. Perhaps they
heard about our bitching. Sometime I believe we believe our own BS.
