Personally I found both to work about as well, seems the denatured burns longer for me and also cleaner, Heet tends to blacken to bottom of my pot, not that I care much, but that is something denatured alcohol doesn't do.  Also Heet is usually cheaper, though some reason I would try to buy denatured alcohol first if I could.
