[pct-l] Arriving into USA this Sunday !

Aother alternative to all this transpotation hysteria in Los Angeles
would be to just buy food at Yosemite. They do have a
small "Mountaineering Shop" and a grocery store in Yosemite Valley. I
am not sure how long you will be taking to do the hike, but if you are
planning on doing 15-20 miles per day, then this is quite achievable.
I did this in 1998 after hiking the Tahoe-Yosemite trail, then deciding
at the last moment to continue hiking the JMT upon arrival to
Yosemite. Here's what I did:
1. Buy food at yosemite valley.
2. eat lunch on day two at Toulumne Meadows Burger stand/grocery
store, also buy more food there.
3. Eat at restaurant and buy more food at Red's Meadow, which is about
38 miles north of VVR.
4. Eat at restaurant and buy more food at VVR.
5. Exit trail over Kearsarge pass and hitch-hike into Independence and
eat at Subway Sandwhich shop, buy more food at grocery store. Hitch
back to trail head.

good luck.

peace,
dude
