When Snickers and I went past it, it looked like the stream bed had a lot of mineral content in it. And I had also heard that the locals didn't drink from Tyler Horse either.
Nor did we.

Generally those mines give off nasty stuff like arsenic, cyanide etc 
and lots of them are superfund sites. Just thought I'd pass along that 
info - make of it what you will. I know that a lot of people did drink 
out of it since it is a listed water source.
