Slight clarification...

If you are going fully ultralight, then I would agree with other folks
comments that 2000 cu/in is enough if you have things hanging on the
outside of your pack (carry jugs in hands down south), and 2600-3000
cu/in is enough space if want everything inside your pack.  I earlier
noted that I had room to spare in my Aether 60... I would estimate I
was carrying ~3000 cu/in of stuff.
