I came thru Kearsarge just a couple days earlier last year and had no snow. It is an absolutely gorgeous hike. The climb to the pass will be strenuous if you're not in thru-hiking shape, but it's worth it. Lone Pine isn't a bad town either, I was glad I stopped there. Just something to consider.
