Dear Captain Bivy, you are now thinking the right way,we are in the bears country,we have to yild to all those wild critters,they are at home ,we are the intruders,that goes for bears,mountain lion,badgers,racoon etc,there just aint nothing as wild as a  cornered a racoon,MAN, done that,did that,and dont wont to do that again,but going after a bear,at night , couse he has your goodie bag,is just plain out of your gord,he is the bull of the woods,what he wants ......! is his/hers,best thing to do is go the other way,and salvage what you can the next day,unless you want to be part of the menu,a black bear has been knowed to eat a man,remembering all ways ......! you are in his territory,the woods are his home,and for christ sakes.....1 carrie a little nylon string,it works wonders .....!Howard
