[pct-l] Quilt

Tim,

Your concerns about a 'coupler' are extremely valid.

You DO need something to pull the sides in, otherwise heat will
escape.

In '02 I used a homemade polarguard blanket on the trail. I slipped
me and the blanket into a sleeping bag liner. This whole thing weighed
about 32 oz. It worked very well, even in mosquito country. (I didn't use
a tent).

In hindsight, I would've done what another hiker did. Use a large piece
of silnylon with velcro anchors to hold it all together. This looked like
a lighter approach.

Hope that helps,
Scott
