[pct-l] NB 801AT & bladder bag

Re: bladder funk

I have revived horridly funky camelbacks with hot water and bleach,
among other methods that did not work as well. Try letting half full
bladder of Gatorade ferment in your car for a month or so in the summer
and you will know what I mean!

Next time, try a very high concentration of bleach (1:8) with as hot of
water your hands can handle. Fill the bladder about half full of
water/bleach, squeeze all the air out and seal it. Massage the drinking
tube and rub the insides of the bladder together to break up the mold
(the hot hose is easier to manipulate). Let it sit overnight. Do the
same to rinse, just skip the bleach. Rinse it well! Wear safety goggles
perhaps?

Also, camelback cleaning tabs contain _exactly_ the same stuff as
Katadyn MP-1 tablets, which may be cheaper (30 for $14), although I
don't know what the equivalent dose is. I've tried Aquamira as well, but
nothing works as well as bleach, mainly because it is cheap to use a lot
of it.
