[pct-l] horse free p.c.t.?

Yea the JMT is terrible ---- I was so disgusted last year that I invented a contraption shoot for the rear of horse that had a swivel so that the dump would always go off the trail and go down hill. Or at least I had the invention in my imagination. I have volunteered a few days as a "trail gorilla" this past spring and most of the other volunteers were horse people and so the goal was always to make the trail more "horse friendly". I have mixed feeling about sharing the trail not only because of the crap but more so because of the destruction of the trail. Where there is high volume of pack animals, there should be a higher fee structure for horses to be used for trial maintinance or even better create a separate pack animal routes. In the cities they make the horses where "diapers" - and when in the back county humans are "suppose" to bury there waste - why not animals - has to be just as unsanitary.

I can't remember seeing a horse on the Oregon PCT - or their remains- guess
my memory really is going. I do remember many horses in the High Sierra JMT
section area of the PCT.

How about doing the reroute section of the PCT in Washington. Sounds like it
won't be good for horses.
