[pct-l] Sierra Snow Situation

As previously reported, the southern Sierra snowpack is 75-80% of normal
(should be an early Kennedy Meadows entry date) while northern CA and OR
snowpack 150% of normal... this leads to two additional thoughts: 1) this
situation will create a very long 'skeeter' season for the nobo hiker, and
2) don't plan on getting rid of your ice axe too soon! (probably might carry
it at least to Tahoe or Donner? So carry a light one! YMMV, HYOH, etc.)

Just additional thoughts to bounce around inside the brains of the class of
2004... but don't fret too much, stay flexible, listen to your instincts,
and get out there and 'just do it'!

Good luck and happy trails!
