[pct-l] gram scales as home decor (was, you might be a thru hiker)

seems to me the cops are making a terribly broad and erroneous
generalization. I've got a cheap electronic kitchen scale which can
express weights either in grams or ounces. It is handy for cooking as
well as backpacking. And I like using metric for weights rather than
pounds & ounces;  much easier to sum and compare.
