[pct-l] Snow in Lagunas

Yowza!

Also-
The snow blankets over the burn area.
Just finished my Morena to Cuyamaca segment and having the snow patches on the burned slopes help make the hike through the burn more bearable.
And the wet ash stayed on the ground as we pounded through...

On my way up to Green Valley this weekend to try my hand (feet?) at snow shoeing! Worst case scenario: I fall in love with it and have to buy another round of gear!!!!!

Hi all,

Just an amusing note. I'm a native San Diegan, so live near the lower
portion. An hour ago I just got back from driving the sunrise Hwy thru
Laguna Mountains. We got a large storm this weekend. Wow, 8 to 12
inches on the ground. Just a reminder that if you go too early, you can
have snow fun on the trail way down here. We have had very cold weather
as late as the first week in March. April is always no problem of
course, but then the heat. For those of you who have hiked thru here, it
was a beautiful winter wonderland today. Pioneer Mail was covered and
unaccessable from the road. Laguna store covered in snow.

Good luck in a couple of months!! I'm working on the Laguna store owner
to buy some bottles of Heet and have up there.
