This is semi-related information for the upcoming class of 2004: The trail 
when you approach Silverwood Lake is a tad confusing. First you'll see the 
dam as a great wall of rocks -- it's unmistakable. Then, you will come to a 
works administration area with trucks, offices and a fenced compound. The 
trail does not go up gravel road on your left to the lake (though there are 
toilets up there), but instead goes out to the road.

If you look to your right at the exit, you'll see a PCT logo on the left 
post of the gate, indicating you should walk out to the road and turn left. 
After a short road walk, the trail will be on your left. This is from 
memory, so please take it with a grain of salt.
