[pct-l] RE: PCT must-sees

A worthwhile overnight stop:  camp at the east  side of the eastern pond 
at Island Pass.  Arise early and get incomparably beautiful photos of 
the sunrise glow on Banner Peak. 
A worthwhile side trip:  Iva Bell hot spring, west of Fish Creek 
crossing.  Can be reached from Red's Meadow (13 mile horse trail), from 
Fish Creek Trail(leaves PCT just south of Fish Creek bridge, good trail, 
but stream crossings are dangerous), from Purple Lake, from Minnow Creek 
trail (Silver or Goodale Pass) or if you are really adventurous, hike 
from Vermillion, down the Onion Valley OHV route, over Arch Rock pass, 
through Margaret Lakes basin, down to Fish Creek, then east to hot 
spring.   Much of this trail is unmaintained and devilishly hard to 
follow.  Jump down a mile of rock slabs, tiptoe on slid-out sidecut, 
bash through head high chapparal.  Big fun.  I mean that.  A truly 
unforgettable adventure.  Arch Rock is Awesome.
