I have Stabilicers  - and never have any problems with
them.  They do stretch out a little bit- but I've
never had them come off.

It may depend on your footwear.  I use mine on light
weight leather boots.

I also have a pair of Yak-Trax - and have not broken
them.  You might look at the Yak-Trax pro- they have a
loop that goes over the top of the boot.  These should
keep them from falling off.
