[pct-l] Sun glasses

re: concerning not needing sun glasses

I used to never wear sun glasses while
backpacking...until I moved to an area with much
higher altitudes and more extensive UV radiation due
to that fact.

I find in high altitude settings, they are rather
helpful. Goes without saying that in extended periods
of snow travel they are a NECESSITY!!!!

Even the $10 drug store glasse now have 100% UVA and
UVB protection.

I will also add that some sort of protection should be
used in high altitude settings. The UV radiation can
be fierce. At sea level I almost never burned. After a
few outings at 10k+ feet, a sun hat and long sleeves
became standard wear for me. (On day hikes, though, I
will typically just slap on some SPF15).
