Hello All
My name is Chance. I thru-hiked the PCT in 2003 and am planning to hike it again in 2004.
In thinking about how to make the second hike easier it occurred to me that trail angels and hikers do not have a real time way to communicate. To enable that, I built Trail Angel Heaven. This is a web site which divides the trail up into its basic 29 sections and allows anyone who wants to add information to a section to just go ahead and do so. Hikers who want to post or make a copy of the data from a section can print it off at any place where they can find an internet connection such as at a library or hiker hostel.
Here is the link. This is a live document. Sort of a never ending story. A couple of volunteer programmers are still fooling around with it so you will see odd changes from time to time. You can explore it and edit it if you want. To select a trail section, single click a section from one of the tables on the main page. To edit, single click onto the upper left corner where it says Edit Page. It will take a few seconds for the editing page to load. When you are done, click the Save button.

Each section page has four divisions:
FROM which is a somewhat arbitrary starting point. Here, hiking strategies for that section can be presented.
IN which is information about a town or hiker hostel.
TO which is the location of a trail event such as a water cache, natural water source, road angel pick up point, camping spot, spur trail, trail maintenance issue, etc. A few TOs have been posted to show what is possible. There are probably hundreds of useful TOs. Add as necessary.
SECTION ALERT which is reserved for information on how to deal with closed or damaged segments of the trail.
* Bulleted information can be posted after each division. A few bullets have been posted to show what is possible. There are probably hundreds of useful bullets. Add as necessary.
On the main page there are some guidelines for what kinds of information are wanted and a link to a suggestion page.
If anyone here on the list wants to post or edit, please research your information for accuracy and then limit your post to just the facts. Because others may edit your information, please check back regularly to make sure the editing is appropriate.
Please do not post copyrighted information and do not plagiarize the work of others.
Trail Angel Heaven is a not for profit web site. No monies will be accepted for its maintenance. No advertising, product or personal promotions will be allowed. All the rules of netiquette apply.
Trail Angel Heaven is an evolving idea. Expect change.
Thank you
Chance
