[pct-l] date of arriving at Kennedy Meadows

You are asking some difficult questions because each year is different and
each person's abilities and interests are different.

Statistically, starting on June 15th going North from Kennedy Meadows gives
you the best chances of not having too much snow nor wild streams. But, in
many years, especially the recent ones, hikers have started much earlier.
But, May 25 sounds at least a week too early unless you want to hike in
snow - and that is not easy.

Regarding mileage? That depends on several things, among them: altitude
acclimation, your fitness (have you been hiking 15-20 miles per day for the
last 2 months?), weight of your gear, your age, the snow levels. Typically,
younger hikers can do 15-20+ miles in the Sierras. There are many passes
over 12,000 with relatively steep ups and downs, many swift stream
crossings, and some fantastic scenery. For most, this is not a race.
