In the Sierra I've tried two different strategies for _stream_fishing_ so
far:
a) a hand line and a few flies in the 14 to 16 size
   + lots of fun
+ weight of equipment 0.5 ounces
+ cost less than 10 bucks
   - takes about 90 minutes to catch 10 fish
b) Cabelas Stowaway 5pc
+ takes 30 minutes to catch 10 fish
   - less fun
   - weight total about 10 ounces
   - cost 150 gringo pesos for the complete equipment
   - I used mine only as a fishing pole (my casting is horrible) and I
     broke it

Next time I will carry a 8-10ft collapsible fishing pole. Costs about 10
bucks. Could be used as a pole for the TarpTent.

Salmon eggs work very well, but they are messy, because the fish inhale
them. Lures etc. don't work well for me. Flies are the way to go,
especially the ones that look like mosquitos. :)

Trout fishing is like hunting: You want to see the fish (polarized
glasses), but the fish should not see you.
