[pct-l] packs

Try the Mountainsmith Auspex. I've used it for two years on the PCT and love
it. My base weight is 18 lbs. It also handled the 8 liters of water required
for the desert and the bear cannister in the Sierras.

Apparently, it has been re-designed (again) for 2004, but you should still
be able to get the older 2002 steel blue model (4200 cu. inches, 3 lb 7 oz)
version. The new bronze model is 4150 cu. inches and 3 lb 12 oz. and adds a
side zipper to the original top-loading model.

You can see them at
