Aren't parkas warm jackets? The Precip I have and the Tempest I had until
recently are better described as rain gear. I own the Marmot Precip anorak
and, until recently, owned the Sierra Designs Tempest. Both are good
jackets. I prefer the Marmot, not because anything is wrong with the Sierra
Designs jacket, but because the Marmot is simpler in design does what I
need with less zippers and pockets. If you overheat easily, maybe all the
vents on the Tempest will help you cool off, but I don't overheat easily,
and for me, the vents were not useful.
I did not like the Marmont Precip pants as they did not fit my long body
right at all. Anyone have any recommendations for a skinny hiker who has a
34" inseam and a 32" waist? It seems the gear manufacturers belive I should
put on weight.
