[pct-l] Accident Incurance.[Scanned]

PCT hikers use:
1. Common sense
2. Experience
3. Extensive Pre-planning
4. A written hiking schedule left with someone at home
5. Flexibility
6. Determination
7. Willingness to turn back
8. Other hikers and trail angles
9.. Luck and prayer - on the rare occasions when the above fail

I don't know anything about this but it brings up another question:
Isn't there insurance that will cover the cost of an emergency
backcountry rescue? What types of insurance have PCTers used? Any?

A friend of mine was telling me that you can purchase temporary accident

insurance in the event that you need to bounce into a medical clinic or
hospital. Any body know anything about this?
