[pct-l] Re: pct-l Digest, Vol 6, Issue 5

Teatree, who hiked this year, had a rather restrictive diet. Much more so
than just being a vegetarian. She has a journal at trailjournals, but I
am not sure if she is back yet from hiking. In practice, I only had meat
a few
times while hiking (in town was another story), although I did have meat
flavorings (i.e, chicken and brocoli liptons) quite a bit. Really, what
you want is as much fat as you can get. Carry a 20 oz. soda bottle and
keep some olive oil in it. Add 2-4 oz. per meal. Not only does it make
Mac and Cheese or Liptons taste a lot better, but it packs a lot of
fat calories. Olive oil in ramen is a little strange, but suprisingly
good. Sop up the ramen oil-liquid mixture with a tortilla or bagel.
