[pct-l] A 26.2 mile trip report....

The course was held in the rural part of Boulder that
also borders the town of Niwot. Almost entirely dirt
roads, some steepish dirt climbs, some gradual
downhills. Not in the mountains, but the edge of the
plains where it meets the mountains. The foothills of
the Rockies are literally a five minute bike ride away
for me.

Check out this link for a handy dandy profile map:

As you can see, some climbing! The elevation was also
in excess of 5000'.
Just in time for mile 20, they had a fun climb. :-)
And a little blurb about the course itself:

A fantastic mid 60's, sunny, (and typical for CO)
hardly any humidity. I am currently 29. (But, in our
phone conversations, my youngest brother likes to
constantly remind me that I am going to be 30 in May.
:D)
Hope that helps... as I said, it was great experiene
and a challenge I had never expected I would be up to.
Me? Run a marathon? Gotta be kidding me.... :-)
Hiker trash can do it..just have to train to expend
all those calories in a shorter amount of time.
(4-5 hrs vrs 10-12 hrs).
