[pct-l] JMT Record?

There was an article in the San Diego Union today that Reinhold Metzger, 61, set the record for an unsupported backpack of the John Muir Trail in 5 days, 10 hours.

It further states that Backpacker Magazine is the "unofficial clearinghouse for such records, though there is no official book or rules and regulations." It mentions that Brian Robinson "was rumored to be attempting it this year, but he hadn't heard from him."

So does anyone know if and how Brian did this year? Congratulations to Reinhold Metzger, but if Brian did it faster it'd be nice to set the "record" straight.

(Note this is dealing with UNSUPPORTED trips. I know there have been faster trips with nightly support.)
