a sight/sound exaggeration based upon an experience
I had on the resurrection trail in AK........
we were observing the griz country practice of yelling
like fools so we didn't come upon one, and carried it
into camp with us the 1st night out, whooping it up
cause we were havin' so much fun....all the noise attracted
a very very curious young blackie that turned into an
hour standoff. I thought my buddy, the "nature dude" was
gonna jump straight up into my arms hhahahahahaha.

Code of silence in bear country? Where'd you hear that?
Maybe if you see it first so you can grab a good pic, but otherwise I've never heard of that.
In any case, I'd prefer to be with three than alone when confronting a bear, as long as they can throw rocks.

the women who run with the squirrels are 3, and I don't
think they want to enforce a code of silence when camping.
Again, bears can HEAR and SMELL further than they can SEE.
