[pct-l] Dave's exploits

We get a lot of very thoughtful prose on this list from time to time. I love reading about people's trips because it reminds me of my own. And I enjoy the debates we have on virtually every aspect of hiking. This group contains a veritable treasure of outdoor experience. Think of the hundreds of thousands of miles of hiking we as a group have accumulated.

The list seems to be made up of mostly intelligent and thoughtful people. It's great to be part of it.

Personally I wouldn't block the emails of one in particular. I've been enjoying his writing almost as much as the stories of real adventures. I don't know about the rest of you but I really get comic relief from them.

After all, many of my favorite authors are fiction writers.

On a sadder note my heart goes out to all the folks in Summerhaven, Arizona. Around 250 cabins have already burned. Mt. Lemmon is my old stomping grounds. I learned backpacking in the rugged Santa Catalina Mountains. I know the forest will recover but Summerhaven may not.
