(my problem is.. how to get to one of the starting points of the busservice from San Jose)

Is there an Eastern Sierra Shuttle Service?  We're
looking to find a cheap way from Tahoe to Independence
when we start our hike the 18th of June or so at
Cottonwood pass.   Any ideas or rideshares out there?
