Also, if you feel that you don't have the time or money to do the climb
properly, you can still hike up to Camp Muir. Up to that point it is truly a
walk-up and you have a marvellous view (weather permitting) of a.o. Mount St
Helens. We loved it! Just don't do it on the weekend, when over 100 people
climb up sometimes.

By the way: Mt Rainier is used for training for Everest expeditions. You can
get killed on the mountain in a whole range of ways...
