I've heard the simmerlite's a good stove, but I used a whiperlite
internationale on both the AT and PCT with an 11 oz bottle and never ran out.
I never had a problem either. When priming, listen for the hiss, then turn
the valve off, light the priming bowl and as it's about to die out, turn your
valve back on. It was good for at least 6 days of hiking and I normally
cooked twice a day. Bring it to a boil, let it cook a minute or two and then
shut it off. In a pinch it will also burn unleaded gas, but tends to soot.

If the simmerlite has a shaker valve and burns unleaded, I'd look into it.
