ah yes, but I would give the same reply to that as I mentioned to mr. cupca=
ke when we had a few words regarding the possibility of hooking up to do th=
e JMT a few years ago, and his suggestion of a hook up with the nobos at KM=
. IMHO folks who've been on the trail for months on end are in a bit of a =
different mind set to put a complicated thing simply, and I personally woul=
d feel a bit of an outsider or tag along/extra wheel trying to settle into =
the "hoard" of northbounders and seasaw and the like if I had a fresh start=
.=2E...different game it seems. And again, as July wears, the "hoard" has =
past, and each day will bring a nice meeting with 1/2 dozen or so thruhiker=
s, all with a great story, and a very different mission.
Respect to all, I could be dead wrong.
Steve

I found that the friendships that have endured over the past 26 years are=
those that I made with the northbounders that we invariably seesawed back =
and forth all of the way to the Canadian border with, rather than, those th=
at I met only once and only had one conversation with, as it would be hikin=
g southbound and encountering the hoard of nobo's.
YMMV,
Greg

if you head southbound, you will
pass about 6 thru
hikers EACH DAY (makes for very interesting trail conversation) instead=
of
settling into
your place in the nobo thru-hiker pack
