[pct-l] ICE AXES??

We left Kennedy Meadows on June 10, 2000. This was another low snow year. If
you want to see pictures of the high sierra passes go to
http://home.pacbell.net/kdpo/pct/high_sierra.htm . We carried ice axes.
Others used only hiking poles. We were hiking in weather so warm we couldn't
see any footprints from people ahead of us. They had all melted out. Also
check the picture at the bottom of the page. That creek crossing shows where
all the melted water was!

I saw pictures that were taken about a week later. They had significantly
lower snow levels.
