[pct-l] DO I NEED AN ICE AXE bandwagon

I'm not sure I see the advantages of carrying the 10 in. ice tool - over an
ice axe.

My ice axe (camp XLA 210)" weights almost half the 12 oz you mention. If it
came to a really short ice tool at 12 oz or a 65cm ice axe at 7 oz...
Wouldn't it make more sense to go with the axe?
