[pct-l] Eyeglasses / Contacts
Lots of missing info for a good reccomendation. I am very myopic
(nearsighted with a -9.25 diopter- coke bottle lenses) lasik can correct
the nearsightedness, but will aggravate my reading . I wear contacts for
many sports, but even the extended wear are not good for more than about
12-14 hours. The last pair of contacts were with bifocal, but I could
barely read my watch. In '97 for our thru hike I had a pair of glasses and
prescriptiom sunglasses. Worked fine for me.

Subject: [pct-l] Eyeglasses / Contacts
Hi, everyone,
I'm near sighted. No, it's not a character defect, or if it is, that's not
what I'm writing about. But I need glasses. That's okay. But when I go to
read, I have to take the glasses off.
What I want to do is get contacts so I can use off-the-shelf sunglasses. I
get involved with some winter sports, XC skiing, mountain climbing and
snowshoeing, so the sunglasses issue is a big deal for me.
Does anyone have experience and a good solution to recommend?
Jim
