[pct-l] Bears??? Try worrying about Racoons!!!!

 Last year's Kick-off party saw racoons big enough to feed 10 starving "
Hilly-billies"!!!! If you go to the kick-off this year, the night raid saw
raccoons in the 30 lb. class trying to make off with cooler chests!! This new
PCT -South super breed would give most bears a run for their money!!
     Two years ago , a wounded bear was reported to be running up and down
the steep canyon between Scissors Crossing and Julian. ( 13 miles west of
trail) This bear seemed rare to locals and took on a legend only topped by
maybe a Yeti.  Several locals in town gave accounts of how the " Monster
Bear" almost got them when they were mowing lawn or washing their cars. Seems
the monster bear is attracted lawn equipment and car wax!!
    Raccoons are more a problem down south than any bears until Sierras.
