[pct-l] bounce boxes - where NOT to send them

Be careful when choosing where you send your bounce box, because there are
places along the PCT where you CANNOT mail out packages:

697.0 - Kennedy Meadows: you can mail boxes out of here. Tape $2 to the
box and it arrives at the destination COD. However, the mail can be slow.
I mailed a box to myself from KM to Tuolumne and it hadn't arrived in
Tuolumne when I arrived there 15 days later.

871.3 - Vermilion Valley Resort: expensive to mail out---$6/box on top of
postage in 2002. Looking at the VVR website, it appears that the charge to
pick up boxes in 2003 will be $10 first box, then $6 every box after that.
There is no indication if this will be the same policy for mailing out
boxes, but I would guess that it's the same as incoming boxes.

1417.5 - Burney Falls State Park: outgoing mail is letters only

1825.3 - Mazama (Crater Lake): outgoing mail is letters only. There is a
PO about 4 miles down the highway.

1907.1 - Shelter Cove: no outgoing mail

2047.8 - Olallie: no outgoing mail

2298.0 - White Pass: outgoing mail is letters only

2396.5 - Snoqualmie Pass: this is a rural PO where you can pick up mail
anytime the store is open (but NOT boxes with delivery confirmation). To
pick up boxes with delivery confirmation or to mail out boxes, you have to
get there during normal PO hours, which are very limited. I wouldn't send a
bounce box here.
