Listen to Yogi.
     In early June of 2001, I saw several hikers who
were planning to hike from KM to VVR bail at Trail
Pass just to get DEET.  When I'm sorrounded by a huge
cloud of mosquitos, as I frequently was in the
Sierras, the toxic effects of DEET aren't a
consideration.  They're that bad.
