I don't know, but my last full days hike in a snow storm was one of my best
on the entire trail.  Climbing up and over Lakeview Ridge, down to a
relatively tranquil, but freezing cold Hopkins Lake was sweet.  For last 15
miles to Manning Park the tempertures spiked back up to near perfect, but the
day was anticlimatic.  However, not as anticlimatic as it would of been
ending at Rainy Pass.

Regardless, I guess I would have been happy hiking 2589 miles, as it would
have given me reason to go back and finish.  Maybe the guy can try a
southbound hike ending at Mt Laguna?
