I think that the first question is: "what is the best type of stove."

Look in the archives for the "alcohol (meths) vs. white gas (petrol) vs
butane/propane (gaz)" threads.Each has it's proponents.

The one type of stove that you WON'T see on the PCT, that you are used to
seeing in the UK, is kerosene.
