[pct-l] Shoes for thru-hike?

Every foot is different. Finding the right shoes for you may be totally
trial and error. Listen to Ron - he knows. Heed the advise to get a shoe
which has enough toe room and width. You don't want to swim in them, but
better to be too big than too small. Socks and different insoles are easier
to change than your feet. Light weight is all you should need for the whole
trip. I guarantee your feet will grow - unless you are well trained. If you
get lots of snow in the Sierras or a lot of ice, that could change things.

Subject: [pct-l] Shoes for thru-hike?

Hey all,

I am making my final touches to my gear list (thanks for everyobdy's help in
doing this) and have come down to slightly under 15 lbs. base weight
(including what im wearing). I am looking for a good light-weight shoe to
begin my thru-hike with. I have some ideas, but was looking for suggestions.
I have a narrow to average foot and usually wear 9 to 9.5 mens shoes. I am
looking for some resistance to water, good breathability, light weight, good
support, and good quality (will not break open on the third day, lol). Any
ideas? Thanks.

Patrick
