[pct-l] Trekking Poles

IMHO:

I've used both Komperdell and Leki antishock poles The Lekis have a
softer spring, which on level ground allows one, through judicious placement
of the poles, to just about fly (Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!) On the other hand I
seem to lose a lot of momentum going uphill with them, and I'd occasionally
experience more give going downhill than I felt comfortable with (although
experience might make these problems less of and issue.)
The Komerdells have a much harder spring, so hard that you might not
notice that they're antishock until you lean on them, Because of that loss
of momentum it's the Komperdells I carry these days...but I'll always
remember the Hoh River Valley in the Olympic National Forest...it was like
hiking with pogo sticks (Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!)
