[pct-l] Southern California Storm & Sierra Meltoff Prediction
--
[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
A significant storm blew through southern California this weekend and dropped
about 2 inches of rain in Los Angeles and snow in the San Gabriel, San
Bernardino and probably San Jacinto mountains.
The southern Sierra snow surveys show a small turnaround from melting
conditions and only about 2 inches of snow added by this storm.
My prediction of an early meltoff still stands. This means that you stand a
good chance of being able to leave Kennedy Meadows around or before June 1st
and find the High Sierras passable. If you are experienced and comfortable
with a bit of snow and ice, aim early. If you are not, aim later.
All caveats and release of liabilities apply,
Greg Hummel.
