[pct-l] Re: umbrellas

I thought, at least in So. California, the idea was to put the Mylar foil
on the umbrella to make it cooler for you while hiking? I made one years
ago, still have it, but it was too big
to carry and then I started using hiking poles. However, I have used one in
Nepal etc. while trekking but primarily for hot sun. Would not want to use
one in the windy sections of the PCT in So. California.

Cheers,

Jason,
I never thought I would carry an unbrella while hiking, but I tried it once
and I was hooked. Here in Washington, with all of our rain, it is one of
the best pieces of equiptment I own.
