Jason,
I never thought I would carry an unbrella while hiking, but I tried it once and I was hooked. Here in Washington, with all of our rain, it is one of the best pieces of equiptment I own.
I have a simple one, 4 oz, flat. It is great.
When searching for an umbrella, try to find one with very few moving parts. less to break.
When you don't have water dripping into your face all day, your outlook is better.
Simply Tom

Jardine is a big advocate of umbrellas, rain or shine. I am interested in
some feedback as to the usefullness of this item. When it
should/shouldn't
be carried,etc. Thanx a bunch
Jason
