[pct-l] Corn pasta

Imho, corn pasta is overrated for its nutrient value and energy boost -
cornmeal's an "incomplete" protein (meaning that the amino acids in corn
protein is not optimally balanced for humans to make proteins for tissue
repair...) and requires additional protein sources to balance it out.

It also seems to take forever to cook - in retrospect, I'd much prefer to
have meals that "cooked" by rehydrating them with boiling water - fast &
easy. For nutrition, add dehydrated powdered veggies to your instant bean &
rice soups - and take vitamins.

Oh - the corn pasta taste doesn't bother me particularly - and adding
various spaghetti-sauce leathers while cooking make it okay. But I think
there are better sources, more tasty sources, of trail food.

YMMV,

Hi, all --

Well, the scales are out and I'm getting the gear ready; now it's time to
start looking at food. Ray Jardine is a big advocate of corn pasta for its
nutrients and energy boost. We tried it once and weren't impressed. However,
I
would like to dehydrate some additives for it and try again. Does anybody
out
there have a good recipe? I'm thinking of adding dehydrated tomatoes, tuna,
a
little olive oil and other seasonings, but if anybody can help me out I'd
appreciate it. Also any special cooking tips. Thanks,
