I have been drinking well and spring water (sometimes the cows would get
through the fence and spoil the water) most all of my 61 years. I have never
even heard of giardia until about 15 years ago. Working in the woods in the
Cascades of Oregon, we always got our water from creeks. I never heard of any
one ever getting sick-- never the less, I will take a filter for the
Califorina deserts.
