Pete,

You may want to consider ending your hike at Wrightwood.  That way you
don't start Section D with 22 mile, no water, and 5000 feet of climbing,
like I will this year.

Hitchhiking is iffy, though doable.  If you can get from Wrightwood down to
Cajon, then see if there are rides available down to Ontario.  The owner of
the Economy Motel might be of some help.

>From Ontario you can take the Metrolink Trains to Union Station in LA and
then the Amtrak down to San Diego.
