[pct-l] A snowy week in Washington
The past week has been a return to a non el nino pattern: low snow levels and
massive amounts of snow in the Cascades: 56 inches at Crystal where a skier
suffocated after falling into a tree well filled with 5 feet of snow
So since the sparse snow pattern has been broken and snow depths are
probably at 80% of normal, I am rescinding my early melt out prediction and
now predicting normal melt out, maybe a week early. Assuming normal temps in
April and May. Good thing I put a lot of conditions on my long range
forecasts. In reality, whatever is there on April 15 is there. I would
consider 80 to 120% of normal on that date to be a "normal" year. I would
expect a snow free PCT on June 1-10 only if the snowpack was less than 50%
Now to check out the current Doppler radar to see what the weather is at the
job site.
